Delaware’s Coastal Economy will be the subject of a continuing University of Delaware seminar series that focuses on coastal resource issues in Delaware.
The seminar will take place Friday, Dec. 7, 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Virden Center at UD’s Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes, Del. The event is hosted by the Delaware Sea Grant College Program and the Sussex Economic Development Action Committee.
The purpose of the seminar is to share results of recently completed study on Delaware’s coastal economy and to discuss the importance of local linkages, issues, opportunities, and challenges facing our coastal economy.
Highlights include a presentation of a new Delaware Sea Grant report, The Contribution of the Coastal Economy to State of Delaware, followed by presentations by business and community leaders in key economic sectors. The seminar will wrap up with discussion of how local groups can collaborate to collect and share economic trend data. See below for a full agenda.
The intent of the Focus on the Coast seminar series is to provide relevant science-based information to inform and support local decision making.
The seminar is free but and seating is limited. Advance registration is required by December 3.
