Mark your calendars — Coast Day is coming! UD’s 34th annual celebration of the sea will take place Sunday, October 3rd, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes. Tour ships in the harbor, meet sea critters at touch tanks, learn about the new 2-megawatt wind turbine that’s powering the campus, and hear scientists share what they are learning about the ocean and our relationship with it. Coast Day features something fun for every member of the family, including a crab cake cook-off, a chowder challenge, children’s activities, lectures, research demonstrations, and much more.
