Episode Script:

At the forefront of renewable energy research, the University of Delaware is installing a 2-megawatt wind turbine on its Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes. A turbine of this size typically provides enough electricity for 500 average homes. Whenever the turbine generates more power than needed by the UD campus, the extra electricity will be made available to the local community. Not only will the land-based turbine provide cheap, clean, and carbon-free energy, but it also will enhance UD’s research in several areas. This research could eventually lead to the United States’ first offshore wind turbine.
