Congratulations to William Geppert, the 2008 Governor’s Marine and Aquatic Science Teacher of the Year. Geppert, who teaches 11th and 12th graders at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, was chosen based on four major criteria: creativity, innovation, quality of teaching, and impact on students. The Delaware Sea Grant College Program and the Office of the Governor established the award seven years ago, recognizing the importance of educating students about marine and aquatic resources. You can meet Mr. Geppert at Coast Day, October 5th at the University of Delaware’s Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes. There he will share his award-winning project ideas and teaching techniques. This is SeaTalk, a public service announcement from the University of Delaware, the Delaware Sea Grant College Program, and this station.
