The days are getting longer, robins have arrived, and you can see buds in the trees. Spring is here! As the season draws you outdoors, remember — whatever washes off your lawn, driveway, and street goes into nearby storm drains, which lead directly to our waterways.
Do your part for clean water. Fix any oil or antifreeze leaks in your vehicle. Compost your yard clippings. Use only the amount of fertilizer you need and don’t fertilize your lawn before a storm. Not only will you help keep our streams, rivers, and ponds clean, but you’ll also keep your money from going down the drain. For more simple “clean water solutions,” visit deseagrant.org.
