WEATHER UPDATE: Coast Day 2015, Oct. 4
While the University of Delaware’s annual Coast Day is typically a rain or shine event, the potential for heavy rains, wind and coastal flooding through Sunday are raising cause for additional consideration.
We work closely with University of Delaware Public Safety, the Office of the Delaware State Climatologist housed here at UD, the National Weather Service and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency to monitor weather during major storm events such as this. Together, we are keeping a close eye on the weather for the weekend, and implications for Coast Day scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4.
Should we need to cancel Coast Day for the safety of our visitors, an announcement will be made no later than 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 and will be posted to the Coast Day website (www.decoastday.org).
This and other weather updates will also be posted on social media accounts for Delaware Sea Grant (@DESeaGrant) and UD’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (@UDceoe), and to additional UD, CEOE, and DESG websites.
Vendors and exhibitors should call 302-645-4234 with specific questions.
The media and general public can call 302-831-8083 or email email@example.com for additional information.
