Education

No matter where you live, the ocean touches your life every day. It's the world's great weather maker and a major provider of food. It's the chief conduit for world commerce, transporting billions of tons of products to Americans each year. It's heralded as the 21st century's treasure chest for new pharmaceuticals. It's also an endless source of recreation, fascination, and awe. Yet we know less about this resource that covers over 70 percent of our planet than we do about the moon.

The Delaware Sea Grant College Program is working to help people of all ages gain a better understanding of marine and aquatic science. We offer formal professional development opportunities and curriculum resources for teachers. We develop innovative programs that help youngsters connect with marine scientists as they conduct research on the Earth's "final frontier." We also offer lots of interesting programs for the public, such as our award-winning Coast Day — referred to as the "Super Bowl" of marine education events. Dive in today!
